Since i'm using mac and pc, either pirate or original, i don't experience any difference. But you can use the copy as a referrence or to try the software itself, and if you really like the software after you try it, then buy the original. Because if you buy original software, you can get free updates and support by registering your software online.

Ok, since you are interested in Cubase, then u r in luck cause i am a trained user for Cubase. But first and foremost, i have to tell you Cubase is the most expensive daw now on the market compare to others. But i can tell you it sure is the best damn software for me and i have tried ableton, reason, pro tools, sonar, fl studio, logic and garageband. Not that the others is bad, but when i need a daw, i really want that can serve its purpose to my requirement and Cubase really can gives me that. it excel for vst plug ins, midi recording, audio recording which have its helpful effect banks, independent of audio and midi tools, loads of sounds, loads of effect and hell lot of others. For ableton, i also like it but i will just use it for live playing since it is great for looping and triggering songs. I can explain a lot of advantages for Cubase and Ableton but it will take more than one whole paragraph just to explain the basic things here. But if u insist, i can give you more details since i have lot of experience in these software.
Btw, if you ask for advice between which daw to purchase, i strongly recommend Cubase if you are into home recording. And now Cubase is in its 4th version, you can either buy the Cubase Studio 4 which is cheaper (around BND6++) or Cubase 4 (around BND8++) but gives more sounds, effect and vst compare to Cubase Studio 4. For ur info, for me, Cubase Studio 4 is just enough for me. And another thing, if u decided to go for Cubase, make sure ur pc have more than 2 gig of RAM and higher processing power since it use a lot of processor to run these program without problems. And also if u decided to try before u buy it, u just inform me and i can provide u the copy for testing.

dude..cubase is on cubase 5 udah for the past 2months.. hehe..
ohh yes..im gonna get cubase for sure. i know i have not much experience in home recording but i will go with cubase 5 rather than cubase studio 5. i might need help nanti lah,but i see u do a lot of dj stuff.
pc,yes im gonna upgrade my pc,my laptop has 2gb ram but i think since i need to register the software,so i would get a dedicated pc for home recording with slightly better performance. i wanna get mac but that would clean up my wallet fast! for newbie its should be ok. i have been in quite a few home recording forums from pro to amature..but since i dont have practical hands on recording so couldnt pick out what the terms they use in their threads. i bought the pirated cubase 4 like last year but couldnt get it to function so i gave up.

Oh really? I didn't know Cubase is already in it 5th instalment hehe. But nevermind, as long as Cubase, I will be gladly to help u out if u decided to purchase it. Btw, i don't do dj stuff a lot, actually i am more to home recording and a freelance sampler tester and really use sampler a lot in my composition (and also i'm a pianist and keyboardist). Sampler is another type of software which is great to use for recording even in Cubase. But we can discuss it later if u want to know more. Now, u just concentrate on Cubase and after u purchased it, u can contact me if you have difficulties on setting it up or using it because when u install it for the first time, u have to set up all the parameters to suit ur pc and ur requirements. Don't worry bout that, I'll guide u along the way.

Dudes, I,ve seen the discussion in here and makes me interested to ask u about the problems i am having with my software. Since u hav mentioned that u are a sampler user (which i hav seen in ur blog, pretty nice info though), i like to ask you a bit about Native instrument Kontakt 2 which i am using right now in my Ableton. How to use the sample for a multi KSP script? I hav tried the single instrument and it sounds absoooolutely amazing!!! Just like a real instrument could be!!! But i don't know how to use the multi. Can u please help me out bro? Thanks a lot!!!
(btw, do u happen to have Kontakt 3 installer? ;)

Bro, since u r using Kontakt 2 (which is a damn good piece of software sampler!!), don't worry bout the KSP script bro. If u just wanna play the instrument, just load the nki. files like usual and for multi's, just load the nkm. files which then load all the needed patch to play the sounds. Anything just ask bro, no problem..
And as for Kontakt 3, i can direct you to someone who can installed it for you.
