Members: Azim - Drums and percussions Apiz - Lead Guitar Syukri - Bass Arif - Rhythm guitar and Vocals Evilive is a 4-piece Brunei based Thrash metal band. Formed in the last quarter of 2006, initially as a "one time thing". Competed during ISB's Battle of the Bands 2006 alongside with fellow bands such as MOTA and The Baker's Wife to name a few. Awarded best guitarist, best bassist and 3rd place for Best Band category. The sound of Evilive consists of an "Old School" Thrash Metal approach that later developed with elements of Melodic Death, Black Metal, Middle-Eastern and Folk Music. The lyrics to the originals are a narrative form of story telling in a sense that each song relevantly continues a storyline, similar to those found in concept albums. Another important aspect of the lyrics is the emphasis on abstract themes such as fantasy and nature with topics on how nobody's perfect, good turning evil, character qualities, never-ending cycles, epic battles and etc. (By no means are we satanic) The storyline to 'Under A Bleeding Sky' evolves around two characters, one is known as the corrupted(found in 'Merciless' and 'Imperial Doom') while the other is known as the antihero(briefly mentioned in 'Imperial Doom'). So technically the more songs we make..if we do, the more the story continues. In the meantime, try figure out the plot so far based on those 2 songs. haha
Our heavy influences Include - Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Sepultura, Pantera, Machine head, In flames, Carcass, At the Gates, Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Dark Tranquillity, Behemoth, Kalmah, Satyricon, Insomnium, Testament, Children of Bodom, Skyclad, Bathory, Ensiferum, Wintersun, Eluveitie, Cruachan, Moonsorrow, Finntroll, Amon Amarth and Dethklok.
